Gardener's world

Today's the day .......................to go up the garden path

When we're at Ron and Margaret's, we always have to have a tour of the garden - to check out what's been going on.

So that's what we've just been doing - and I'm pleased to tell you that the Hydrangea Annabelle  and the Francoa somchifolia have done really well this year.  The Ildi  cherry tomatoes have been spectactular.  The badgers have taken over the bottom of the garden and although this might seem like a blessing to some, they do mess up the lawn in their search for tasty grubs.

The Eucryphia is in full glorious flower and the runner beans var. Armstrong are so prolific that it's unclear what can possibly be done with the excess.  Ditto the raspberries, except that they can go straight into the freezer.  Unfortunately, no passing kestrel has been attracted by the kestrel nestbox and so it remains un-let for another year.

To sum up, it's been a good year for some things - and not so good for others.  But as always, this garden is a delight for all the senses and continues to be a lovely place to spend time ......................
