The hunt continues

Literally just outside our camp, we find the pride on the airstrip on the move again. The bush telegraph told us that the Buffalo had come back across the river and the lions knew it too. This was very early in the morning with the sun just rising and the light on the lions was fantastic. We followed the lions to the Buffalo and the hunt began. The lions were patient and cautious creeping ever closer to the herd. Suddenly our guide shouted at us to hang on and we were plunged into the middle of a lion attack. The whole thing was incredible. We were right in the thick of the attack, the lions completely oblivious of us. The Buffalo countered, the lions retreated then attacked again. We chased at breakneck speed. Then, disaster, the jeep hit a log and the steering broke. We had to change vehicle in the middle of all the chaos, hoping the lions were actually more interested in the hunt at that time! Very exciting but very difficult to take pictures. I am also pleased to say the lions failed to catch their prey. I will expand on this later in the trip.
