1945 Allied Forces ...

Another photo from the family vault .... the tallest man in the back row is my grandfather and we think this was taken as the Australian Army headed to Labuan to liberate Borneo from Japanese occupation during WW11.

It's images like this that really convey the power of photography as a form of storytelling. To be able to look back 70 years and get a glimpse of your family history like this is remarkable. 

I would encourage everyone to see if they have their own family history tucked away in forgotten albums in the back of their grandmother's cupboard. Go searching!
