A walk in the dark side

Across the road is the Ohinemuri River that runs through the gorge, there are a number of walks and today we walked the path that includes a 1100 metre tunnel used as a rail track for mining proposes a century ago. The tunnel was lit.... so the info told us and true it was in places but not something I would want to do again. We didn't think to take a torch, fortunately the light on John's phone was useful at times. Just keep talking ..

It was OK, the rest of the walk proved to be very good with the path along the waters edge narrow in places, not suitable for bicycles or wheelchairs. Its a walk where it's impossible NOT to take pictures Or to stop smiling.
