The life & times of Jacks

Penguins at Boulders Bay

We picked up the hire car on Sunday morning from town and then decided to head out for our first drive - initially we were thinking of Cape Point but we were a bit late out of bed and had booked some Spa treatments in the afternoon at the hotel so had to be back by 3pm.

We drove out to Boulder Bay instead to see the penguins.  The drive was beautiful.  Gorgeous coastlines, over mountains and valleys - it is so hard to put into words how beautiful South Africa is and do it the right amount of justice.

Boulders Bay is home to a colony of African Penguins.  There is a walkway to wander down and view them and some rangers to ensure that you don't try to touch/ feed or annoy the penguins which means they feel pretty safe wandering about.  They are so so cute.  The wildlife in this country is amazing and the importance that is placed on the conservation of this wildlife is also very significant.

After enjoying the scenic drive and penguins we headed back to the hotel for some proper honeymoon pampering.  We each had a 2 hour all over exfoliating scrub and body massage.  It was intense relaxation and a couple of times I think I had totally zoned out.

Afterwards we had a glass of bubbles and then that evening a final walk around the waterfront but had quite a "pub" dinner as we were both feeling very chilled out and relaxed.

Sad for it to be our last evening in Cape Town as there are so many things we didn't get around to doing but we will definitely be making a return trip one day.
