Snow Bunting

I got up at five and headed to Deerness where birds included 3 peregrine, 1 kestrel, 1 sparrowhawk, 1 lesser whitethroat, 1 garden warbler, 3 willow warblers etc. After a cup of tea back home I headed up to Birsay. I found this migrant, possibly just arrived from Greenland, Iceland or Norway. It is feeding on seeds of Thrift. Birsay was really hot and sunny so a snow bunting seemed an incongruous find.
