On the cusp!

Excellent seminar today in Builth, talking about the Wye Catchment Plan; erosion, eutrophication (nutrients from chicken muck is why I'm involved), farming in Herefordshire and suchlike.
Anyway, one conversation led to another and it seems I'm going Salmon fishing on the River Wye this Saturday. Gulp!
The beauty in the picture is Afon Irfon in the grounds of Caer Beris Manor (venue of the meeting) about a mile up from its confluence with the Wye.
All day the Irfon level fell as the recent rain washed washed out and by the time we disbanded it was looking perfect with a small hatch of mayfly coming off. The only problem was, I'd left the waders and reels at home as I thought fishing would be impossible.
Drove home thinking "what if...".
