View from Sgurr a Ghreadaidh

We had been speaking to friend at the orienteering on Sunday, and he said he could take a day off and come up in the Cuillins with us. He texted and we agreed to meet at the youth hostel in Glen Brittle and go up Sgurr a Ghreadaidh, if the weather was okay. There was a lot of mist clinging to the tops when we set off for the ridge, and it was a wee bit breezy. However it wasn't long before it was warm and I changed into shorts. We had lunch in the shade so I put my Ron Hill's back on, and then left An Durus by a somewhat easier scramble than the guidebooks had suggested. It was misty, and we made our way to the top as several parties were descending. The summit is very small, and the ridge on towards the south top is a narrow scramble. Iain is competent and confident and we made good progress, and the mist began to thin and break up. The blip is a panorama of the highest part of the Cuillin Ridge from near the south top, and shows how spectacular the view is, especially with the mist. We reached Sgurr na Banachdich and had some more food. As we enjoyed the sun we were treated to spectacular Brocken Spectres, and 2 of the extras show how good they were. The third is a panorama of the last light on the Cuillins from where we stayed the night, The descent to Glen Brittle is a bit brutal, but as it was warm and sunny passed quickly.
