A concrete love affair

Lincoln Cathedral

A surprise trip to Lincoln yielded some lovely light on the Cathedral's west facade. Its a lovely little city.

EXTRA PHOTO's

On the way we visited the Grantham Canal, the location of the Fosseway crossing the dry canal bed with brand new bridge crossing above
redundant canal space somehow so postpeakcartastic!

After leaving Lincoln we were intrigued by the spire on a hill overlooking the city and went for a closer view....... My thoughts;
The International Bomber Command Memorial Spire stands proud overlooking the city of Lincoln. Its one part of a centre, under construction, which will commemorate the sacrifce of thousands of aircrew who flew from Lincolnshire airfields in WWII, all to many never to return. In the spirit of honour and respect of their sacrifice is was wonderful to see this emblematic structure redolent of reaching to the sky in hope standing so proudly on the Lincoln skyline.
