Alien Creature?

Very heavy rain today, with localised flooding, which made driving conditions appalling. In the village, we had water gushing up from drains in the middle of the road. 

The dogs won't go outside when it rains, which makes life inside quite unbearable, as they whine none stop. It means constant trips to the back door, where they stand watching the rain and then come back inside again, only to repeat the process five minutes later.

I picked this on a walk that Mr E and I did last week, hoping that it would do for an emergency blip. Once I put it on the computer, I thought that it looked like a weird alien creature with a very long proboscis.

I'm hoping normal service will resume fairly soon :))
