An Artist's Life

Yellowstone's Wonderland

Yellowstone Falls in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone is captured from Artist's Point as the Lower Falls tumble 308 feet into the canyon. The 108-foot Upper Falls is just around the corner and we made the trip, drop  and climb to be dazzled at the brink of the falls.
Before we reached the Grand Canyon, we explored more paint pots and geysers...there are hundreds. Notice the incredible colors the various bacteria make....the colors change as the temperature changes as each bacteria has a different temperature range. Some pools, like the turquoise Abyss pool shown, are up to 280 degrees. Stay on the boardwalk! You're on top of a volcano, people!
I've pictured a couple of the lodges in the park: Old Faithful Inn where we had dinner....note the huge fireplace with its clock... and the very sunny Yellowstone Park Lodge at West Thumb. The iconic jammer bus will convey you from lodge to lodge.
Lastly, we did manage to see one very large grizzly bear! The rangers told us to move along; so we crawled along with the rest of the gawkers...but we got our bear!
