My alternative diary

Statice

A spur of the moment suggestion from me that we go to the local farm shop café for lunch resulted in today’s blip. On our table was a tin jug acting as a vase for a bunch of Statice.
At first sight it reminded me of my Dad as he always grew a row of Statice on his allotment and I remember him hanging bunches upside down in the coal house. They were then distributed to family and friends over the winter months. This was a time when the supermarkets were in their infancy and not importing blooms from all over the world!
