Happy Birthday!

Today was great fun! (as usual)

We had a puppeteer, called Alex, visit us today. She told us the history of Mr Punch (now 353 years old) and gave us a version of a Punch and Judy show. I have never watched a Punch and Judy show before, because it always sounded like a racket, but  Alex told us how the performance evolved and changed over the years. She included gruesome details of public hangings. People were very often hung for theft and sometimes for items of very little value and with no proof of their guilt!

After lunch we had a good sing, Thursday members are VERY lively and are keen to join in. Later we celebrated Jean's birthday and then had a game of darts.

Thursday's ladies all like to "help" and can be tricky to manage. A couple of them are like clucking hens, determined to help others out of their chairs, off and on with cardigans, to and from the loos! I am exhausted!!

Anyway, an old school pal is visiting and I am meeting her at 6pm. So an evening of chat lies ahead!
