Doors in Oslo # 75 Villa Parafina

I guess this one of the most stylish doors in Oslo - Norway's official residence. Built in 1877, architect Henrik Nissen.

The house was originally built for merchant Fredrik Sundt. He was a paraffin importer, and this is the origin of the name Villa Parafina. The house was bought by the state in 1896. From 1898 to 1907 it was used as Prime Minister residence, and today the Prime Minister keeps his/her New Year speech here. The ornament is the royal lion.
