Can you guess what this is?

salt from the depths of the mine........ A visit today to the Wiellczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Mining for salt has been taking place since the Middle Ages. The chambers are amazing with incredible statues carved in salt. There is a huge chapel with beautifully carved friezes. The chambers reach a depth of 327 metres. We walked along numerous passages still with the truck rails and down many, many steps, thankfully a lift takes you back up to ground level. A must see site!
