Amazon basin trip: Rurrenabaque & the Pampas

Day 1 of our Amazon trip was a VERY early start at 3:30am, as we needed to get a flight to Rurrenabaque at 6am with Annabel and Luisa our German friends. The plane was a tiny propellered plane, you couldn't stand up in it, and it was a very bumby ride! But we made it safely to the small town, where we then took a 3 hour bumby dirt road jeep ride, followed by a 3 hour boat ride down the Rio Beni. Along the way we saw a huge number of different animals, including hundreds of alligators, birds, turtles and weird giant guinea pig things. We camped in small cabins along the water and ate huge meals provided by the tour company, ready for the next day's adventures!
