Prayer mask

On Wednesday we saw this grim mask in the museum of the American Indian. My instant reaction was "what a Mr Grumpy bum!" Reading the information I found this was a prayer mask, designed for someone who was ill to carry the prayers & protection. My drawing is imperfect but I reflected on the importance of the visual in prayer
