Day five of our staycation which coincided with my birthday (if you are a fan of Bingo you should be able to work out my age from the title) and a year since the referendum when the people of Scotland spoke and have been complaining about it ever since.

In the meantime a trip to Edinburgh and lunch at Martin Wishart's restaurant down in Leith. The food was marvellous but thank goodness we had gift vouchers that helped lighten the bill. Like the referendum it started out as a once in a lifetime event, but we may return to it when we can afford it again.

Handily our son's mural of Eduardo Paolozzi was just a hundred metres or so up the road from the restaurant so a photo opportunity not to be missed. A saunter up the Water of Leith walkway followed and then home in plenty of time for the Great British Bake-Off Extra Slice.

I didn't watch it, I was still too stuffed from all that lunch and needing a lie down.
