A Great spotted Woodpecker - spotted!

Today I went to a demonstration of bird ringing. This was the noisiest bird caught and the most colourful and could do
the most damage to the man holding him, (he is a feisty male, the bird I mean) both with his beak and feet! They processed 114 birds this morning ranging in weight from 5 grms a Goldcrest, to 78 grms for this beauty!
