orb weaver

How lucky am I that this awesome creature is gracing my yard? I've been observing the webs in the morning, shining in the sun or sparkling with dew. They are damaged by then, with the spider hiding. Tonight I remembered to check for a freshly made web. I was very happy and excited to see this orb weaver looming in the light of my flashlight. I have enjoyed the presence of this spider for three days now. I hope it gets some mosquitoes.
