In memory

There was a minute's applause before the York City fixture against Carlisle United in memory of David Longhurst today. He sadly died during a game at Bootham Crescent 25 years ago in an encounter against Lincoln City. Two of City's coaching staff were playing that day and joined both teams and club staff in the centre circle facing the David Longhurst Stand. My colleague S captured images of this from on the pitch and my photo is of the crowd in the main stand. The club will be moving to a new ground in two years time, but I think this little act of remembrance will help to keep the memory of this young player alive even though we're no longer at the Crescent. Hopefully having photos such as these and those on the pitch will help.
