Primary health care in #SriLanka

IMPACT's specialist clinic in Weerawila, Sri Lanka, provides primary health care in an area devastated by the Asian tsunami.

An update from the team today about a family living in a small village near to the clinic. They describe how our work is helping people like Dharmapala (65) a farmer whose entire crop has sadly been ruined following heavy rains this year. He told us how he is running a small bicycle repair shop in order to try and cover the daily household expenses - pictured above.

He explained how the clinic has been a lifeline for his family - after the devastation of their crops they have relied on the free medical services of the clinic as they would be unable to afford any private medical help. The team are also helping Dharmapala and his wife to establish a small vegetable garden so that they can grow nutritious produce for their own consumption - helping them to save money.

IMPACT is committed to bringing medical services, free of charge, to those who need it most.
