Victory Dance

Invent a dance to celebrate victory!

That was our task this morning in dance class at the Macrobert Arts centre, Stirling when two students Kim Donohoe and Peter Lannon from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland studying Contemporary Performance Practice came into our class.

They asked us to create a simple dance movement to celebrate some kind of victory or celebration.

It started with us standing there with our eyes closed visualising the movement and event and culminated with each of us performing the routine, which we had invented.

I did mine based on celebration of third Forth Valley Open Studios based on two yoga movements finishing with the Warrior pose.

And that's what I photographed for todays blip pic.

Our movements, may or may not, be incorporated in their final performance of The Victory Dance which forms part of the Big Dance Project.

Tonight we are going to the Big Concert in the Raploch. It is pouring with rain, 8,000 are expected and there is no cover.

Whoever would have thought we would be going to the Raploch for a night out and in a torrential downpour too?
It's all to hear the Venezuelan orchestra under Simon Bolivar play.
