darting between the showers

...one of the things I learned in business was: the most important aspect of good communication is setting and managing people's expectations.

As a case in point; yesterday we were disappointed when the promised warm sunshine didn't materialise. It wasn't that the weather was bad, it was simply worse than we expected. Today, however, we were delighted because we were anticipating a day of non-stop rain, but we actually had heavy showers with a few bright spells between. The moral being, set achievable expectations, then over deliver!

So, today wasn't fantastic, but we were happy to be able to get out during one of the longer dry spells, to continue hunting for rare dragonflies. Nothing unusual was to be seen but this rather beautiful Common Darter Sympetrum striolatum kindly posed for long enough to get a good shot...
