Not quite dead as a...

Having been up in London today, various work things to handle, then a final supper for a daughter who's leaving tomorrow, it was late evening before I'd managed to watch all of the Scotland-Japan game.

Given what the amazing Japanese did to South Africa a few days ago, I was expecting this would be an early snuffing out of our World Cup hopes. As the match went on, though, things were looking better and better, but given our legendary ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory I didn't relax until the final whistle went. 

It's one of these all-too-rare moments to feel really quite good about being a Scotland supporter. Of course, we'll now probably totally blow it against the United States...
