Queen Mary's Bath House

I must have passed this curious building hundreds of times without knowing that although it is called "Queen Mary's Bath House" it is actually a little summer house in which the 16th century Royal family at the Palace of Holyroodhouse would take the shade when walking in the gardens. It may in fact be the earliest extant tennis pavilion.

Today the road from the Parliament to Abbeyhill ( my walk to and from the flat when in the city) makes it a much less peaceful spot except late at night , like tonight.
