I hear you

"Okay, that was exciting"

And with that She turned and walked off, past the Martyr's cross, heading down to West Orchards in search of a cappuccino and blueberry muffin. Sufficiently secure in her safety once more, ignoring the recent weight gain anxiety as well I might add.

Living (again) on the Parkside Estate, as we are, having decided against letting the place out once more; that and not finding suitable ("suitable ha") lodging in Leamington Spa as yet, yesterday's "excitement" while not exactly expected wasn't in reality, as dire as at first imagined.

Oh, for those of you (which pretty much means all of you) who didn't know, Parkside and the University's Technology Centre are built on what was the old Rolls Royce plant and back during the war the 'magnificent' Merlin engines (used principally in the Spitfire) were assembled here/there, so when the Germans came to town, other than just wreaking havoc on the city for the hell of it, the plant was one of the primary reasons for their "visit"

(as I said, pretty much everything around here short of the cemetery and the semi-detached homes over on Queen Isabella and Mile Lane were all built well after the war and in fact Parkside itself (and the Tech Centre) was pretty much completed over the past 17 or so years)

So yeah, why are they STILL digging up bombs from the blitz?

Quite by "accident" I hasten to add. I don't know, I'm just glad, I guess, that they are ridding us of them in "controlled explosions" and not picking up what's left of us when they go BOOM on their own.

So, with that in mind, yeah, yesterday was unsettling to say the least

The photo was taken - serendipitously - in West Orchards after She satisfied her Starbucks desires
