Annie and Chris

Skogafoss

This was back-blipped due to no Internet access at the time.

We contined to travel along the southern coast of Iceland from our lakeside hostel at Laugarvatn, through Vik and on towards the dramatic lava fields near Skaftarhreppur.

It was a day of waterfalls: most magnificently the 60m drop at Seljalandsfoss, where you could walk behind (as captured by John). Keeping the camera dry was a challenge!

This was shot by Chris at the beautiful Skogafoss waterfall. Annie went to stand right under the main spray and came back very wet.

A last stop of the day to Reynisfjara beach for black sand and basalt columns.

As yesterday's entry now can't be edited, for completeness:

- We left Reykjavik, visited Thingvellir National Park for wide vistas, a fissure (where the continental plates are separating) and the blipped waterfall.
- Then Geysir for geysers (they are named after Geysir) and other geothermal fun.
- Finally the stunning and magical Gullfoss waterfall, with its own semi-permanent rainbow.

More in the blipfolio.
