Ashmolean Museum: Sante Menini Watch

More intricate in large.
Back blip

I had a very jolly time at the Ashmolean Museum, exploring some of its wonderful collections including European art, silverware (including the new Welby collection), musical instruments, and classical artefacts...
This rather wonderful brass watch was made in Bologna in about 1700AD; I was fascinated by its intricate dial and subsidiary rings.

I've uploaded some other Ashmolean artefacts to Flickr (right from here).
Highlights:
Central staircase
(Egyptian) Goose standing on crocodile's tail
(Egyptian) Goose decorating a sarcophagus
