Spent a pleasant hour on the common below the approach to Bristol airport. Lovely afternoon. Smart phones really are an amazing bit of kit. I could look online to see when the arrivals were; Read a book on it whist waiting (The Martian really is an excellent read) - And then take pictures of them with it.
Equally impressive was the arrival of the wingtip vortices: a roaring sound that made you think another jet was flying over, followed by the violent whip whip whip as they hit the ground. Very impressive.
