Games of many halves

Today has been dominated by rugby, with some strange outcomes.

We signed up a while ago to go to the Scottish Varsity matches between St Andrews and Edinburgh at Murrayfield. We ended up getting there rather early and spent a while sitting on the ground (well, I sat and Mr A stood) watching the 2nd teams play on the outside pitches and practicising some sports photography. And then it was into the stadium, but because we met up with some people we managed to blag our way into the hospitality suites, to enjoy some free beers and canapes, although it was the same old plastic seats.

The women were victorious (see extra), and the men were almost victorious. The second extra was taken as the St Andrews player took the last kick of the match, a conversion from rather wide out. It turned a one point loss into a one point win. Agonising.

We elbowed our way out of the stadium and elbowed our way onto the first 22 that came by. Back here just before half time. Not to be. More agony. England deserved to lose.

All on a day when most people were talking about some chimneys. Well, I'll be passing by the scene of the crime tomorrow with the Belles, so I will report back.
