From the Sky Garden

After a relaxed start to the day, we trundled into London around lunchtime. We had a sunny walk around the Barbican checking out the exhibition on the construction of the Barbican estate and nice drink and slice of cake on the lake terrace. Nice to be here for a reason other than work! It was a lovely sunny day.

Later in the afternoon it was time for the main event of the day, a visit up 20 Fenchurch Street, more often referred to as the "walkie-talkie" building. The Sky Garden is at the top and is the highest public garden in London. The views are superb and we watched a spectacular sunset.

Tickets for the Sky Garden are free but you need to book in advance. We also found it paid to get there well in advance of the ticket time as the queues were long and slow moving.
