Chilli Cooked Off

Great afternoon and early evening spent on the annual Lupe Pintos Chilli Cook Off with Mel, Gillian and Jason. 10 bars, teeny portions of chilli. Scorecards, and a not-insignificant amount of beer and margaritas (though not in every bar, that would be... messy...).

We had some differences of opinion, two of us (me included) going for Cloisters, one for the Blue Blazer, and one for Lock 25. The winner, though, was Burger for the second year in a row. We all only had them mid-table, though many seemed to have been swung by their condiments. But the people have spoken. Even if they're wrong.

Some good chat about holidays, a bit of cycling, and career suggestions.

Gillian and Jason were off to a house-warming-ish party afterwards, though not sure how long Jason was going to last, having just arrived home from London that morning after a flight from Sweden the day before was delayed long enough to miss the UK connection. Mel, without the travel travails, had flaked out by 9.30, leaving me to watch England throw it away against a very determined Welsh side. Somehow a couple of hours later I managed to go from lying on the sofa reading to waking up at 1.30am....
