An unconventional wedding

Mr hazelh and I have been looking forward to nadinepierce's wedding ever since S proposed on 30th August 2014. The big day finally arrived today, and boy did we have a great time celebrating!

nadinepierce and S always host the most fabulous parties, and we knew that there would be lots of fun in store on the day of their nuptials. There was also a sure gurarantee that this would be a wedding like no other.

The venue was a film studio and the guests were all invited to come dressed up as characters from television or the movies. For my costume I wore my tiniest (and tightest) running shorts (a present from my cousin don_T), a vest top, a jade necklace, and heavy black boots with a 'gun' in my belt to become Lara Croft.

Everyone had a great time meeting and dancing with the other characters at the party: Dr Who, Sandy and Danny from Grease (with two friends playing the 'before' and 'after' versions of Sandy), Bellatrix Lestrange, Lord Summerisle from the Wickerman, a victim of Reservoir Dogs, several women in long dresses representing characters from the Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, LT Pete "Maverick" Mitchell from Top Gun, Patsy from Ab Fab, several Princess Lieas, Mary Poppins, and many, many others. Our friend W dressed up as runaway bride Maggie Carpenter in the dress that she wore at her own wedding several years ago. This would have caused a lot confusion if anyone had stumbled upon this wedding because for most of the party the real bride was dressed in the (very posh and lovely) pyjamas that she had worn to her humanist ceremony earlier in the day.

My friend K is responsible for my blip today. She's captured one of the 'quieter' moments in our 7 hour dancing marathon through the dry ice of the smoke machine. Here you can see the lovely French plait that the 'before' Sandy did for me on the bus on our way to the wedding venue.

Exercise today: dancing.
