Newhailes

The faded glory of Newhailes, home of the Dalrymple family from 1709 to 1997, when it was passed to the National Trust.  In Sir David's time, it was a key gathering places for members of the Scottish Enlightenment.

Looked for conkers in the grounds, but the squirrels had got there first, including one that threw empty conker shells at us.  Capitalist tree rat.
