A Day at Lake Hayes

15 members of the walking group headed over the Crown Range to Lake Hayes.  What a beautiful day it was to be sure.  There were 3 'eight rowing crews' out on the water training for the racing at Twizel this coming weekend.  (Not pictured!).  We had our lunch in the sun beside the lake, then headed back to the cars.  There is a track right around the lake, which we walked in the anticlockwise direction.  The yellow flowers are 'gorse', and considered to be a weed!

You can see the road on the mountain in the distance (on the right) which leads up to the Remarkables Ski Field.

We stopped at Arrowtown for an ice cream/coffee on the way home. It was another super day out with the walking group.
