St Malo

In St Malo today we walked the ramparts, it seems to be the thing to do. Lovely views over the sea and the harbour, and into the old town, almost completely rebuilt after the Second World War. Inside the walls we found a creperie and each had a galette followed by a sweet crepe. Later we found a quiet spot on a quayside overlooking the port from across the water.

We travelled to and from St Malo by minor roads. These appear as the merest thread on the Michelin map and are a challenge to the navigator, but they are wide and well maintained, so are easy driving. The signpost system in France is very thorough, but a bit last minute.
