Winchelsea

We went to Winchelsea to listen to Stile Antico who were performing as part of the Rye Festival (one of Tony's old flat mates is heavily involved in the festival).  The concert was called Sacred and Profane and featured pieces of profane music which had migrated into sacred works.  Excellent performance and no conductor.  The church is St. Thomas the Martyr.   We had intended to spend the day in Winchelsea but the weather put us off and we only went down for the evening.  Worth another visit though as there seemed to be some very attractive ruins.
