Stuff and Nonsense

Frankfurters...

This week I am in Germany for a couple of days and our hosts took us to a traditional restaurant called Kanonesteppel in Frankfurt. It was full of locals and served some very traditional fare. They had us trying the Handkäse mit Musik, which translates to hand cheese with music. It is some sort of baked cheese covered in raw onions with bread. It does not come with any cutlery and you are supposed to pick up the cheesy stuff with the bread - hence the hand cheese. Apparently the "music" comes the following day.....
The drink was a huge jug of Äppelwoi which is an apple wine which you dilute with sparkling water - not my type of drink but everyone else seemed to think it was ok.
A good local evening, but not one I will be rushing back to :)
