On the turn

The last few cold nights seem to have triggered the change of colour in some leaves. These Dewberry leaves in the base of a hedge have suddenly become quite spectacular as the chlorophyll pigment disappears, leaving the red of anthocyanins to take over for a while. If it were possible to stabilise the process at this halfway point and breed from this plant I think I could make some money with a new decorative Rubus variety!
