Refugee Auction

This little work of art is one of millions of pounds worth that is just lying around the place. Ok, I'm in the archives but still, the value of what's down here is unfathomable - even to the four, yes four, full time archivists that spend their days down here. The other day, one of them dumped a heavy shiny thing in my hand, it was a gold bar given by France to C.J. for his business dealings with Mr Pasteur in 1897, engraved with a scene of them both (I'll be getting a shot of that during my last month, that's for sure).

Anyhoo.... we're having a Red Cross fund raiser this Friday and some interesting things will be for auction, this family thing is one of them. For every penny spent with Carlsberg, Tuborg will match it. So a when you buy a pint, (the value of) two will go to RC.

A hectic day so this is just another "work shot".
