Tinkering with Old Cars

Three years ago some local motor enthusiasts were watching the Olympic Cyclists racing up Staple Lane and decided that, if the organisers were able to close half the roads in Surrey for a few bicycles, then surely they could close one road for a few hours for motor cars. The idea was born and 18 months of planning later an amazing 125 vintage cars turned up for the first event.

Now in it's third year the event has grown and 150 + vintage cars and motorbikes participated. The course runs almost a mile on beautiful scenic road and views over London which raises 300ft onto the North Downs. The hedges cut, there was more than enough space to find a good spot to view the cars as they attempted to drive up it in record time.

A lovely day and so much money raised for local charities.
