Tuy Hòa

Another early start to take Rachael to the doctor and then we caught a local bus to Phan Thiet. After some confusion about the price of our ticket (and the additional cost for our bags), we were on our way and arrived half an hour later. Next we had to get a taxi to Bình Thuận train station and were treated to endless fields of beautiful dragon fruit plants. We arrived at the station about an hour early with enough time to book our tickets and get some lunch.

The train was quite hot even though we were in the air conditioned carriage. It made for a fairly uncomfortable six hour journey. We arrived in Tuy Hòa at around 6.30pm and walked to find a hotel. The town doesn't really have any foreigners, so we stood out and were regularly stared at but everyone seemed very nice. We checked in to a hotel and then went in search of some dinner. I wanted Rachael to try my favourite Vietnamese dish (bún thịt nướng) so I asked our hotel manager where we could get it. He told us that it can also be called bún khô here and gave us directions to a stall. It took a little while to find it but I'm glad we did! This lady made us a delicious dish of noodles and various meats. I will never get bored of it!
