Lapwing on the Loch

A sign that Autumn has arrived .... the lapwings have returned to the loch at the Heritage Park. They can only be found at two specific spots if they are not grazing on the local fields. If the birds are disturbed at their first gathering point they take to the air and fly to their second choice. The lapwings are easily unsettled and it's very difficult to get close but if you don't edge slightly forward you don't know the birds are there!
