Ancient machinery - a spinning jenny

Was shown round the machinery workshops at the Underfall Yard by Ray Davis who started work there as a blacksmith in 1959. In his retirement he makes model steam ships - see the extra.  This machine regulated the requirements from the steam engine.  Ray called the room The Kremlin for the man in charge there for years was a communist and read the Daily Star.
