Latrigg Fell

Our last day in the Lake District and we were up and out by 6.15am, so we were on top of Latrigg Fell for sunrise. There were small patches of mist in the valleys when we arrived, however, as we watched the sun rise over the hills, the mist continued to improve.  It was another amazing morning. I get so excited on special days like this - just a big kid at heart!

Up here, the views are stunning - Skiddaw and Blencarthra to the north, Keswick and the length of Derwentwater, Borrowdale and the high fells of Central Lakeland to the south.

After breakfast, we finished packing and then a final stop at Rydal Water. Then a quick bite to eat before the long journey home.

It's been an amazing holiday - we've visited so many stunning locations and the weather has been glorious throughout our stay (despite the predicted forecast of rain every day)! A huge thank you to Gill, Trevor and Steve for their fabulous company - it's been a holiday filled with fun and lots of giggles. And lastly, a huge thank you to our wonderful host, Gail, for looking after us all so well.

Couple of extras - another shot from Latrigg Fell and one of the boathouse at Rydal Water.

This is my final back blip of our Lakes trip. Today, Saturday 3rd October, I am on another adventure. Arrived this afternoon in the States. The first part of the workshop will be spent in Vermont before travelling to Maine for the remainder of our stay.  Travelling to our hotel in Montpelier - the autumnal colours are looking amazing. Can't wait to get out in the morning!  I apologise now if I don't get the chance to comment on your journals whilst i'm away.
