Bookmarks

Here are some of the bookmarks I got lately. Some of them just came with the books I bought, while others were slipped into books by a cashier when I was about to buy them.

Some bookmarks are used for advertising. The one on the left end, which shows a dog in apron, advertises a pre-paid card for purchasing books. The other four bookmarks except the orange one on the far end have the name of each publishing company. Also the orange one looks interesting: it has been graduated a scale so that one may use it as a ruler.

Speaking of a bookmark, in Japan we say autumn is the best season for reading, the origin of which is said to date back to ancient China.
