Life in Newburgh on Ythan

Unwanted

Abandoned, all washed up, unloved, unwanted, neglected; this sad scene of an old shopping trolley abandoned on the beach came to mind as I read this morning's news on the BBC website.

At a fringe meeting at the Conservative Party Conference in Manchester, Mr Alex Wild of the Taxpayers' Alliance, has stated that Ministers should waste no time in making unpopular cuts to pensioner benefits, including cuts to the winter fuel allowance, free bus passes, the Christmas bonus and other pensioner benefits. He argues that this should not lead to a large loss in Tory votes at the next election since many of the pensioners affected would "not be around" by then while others would simply have forgotten which party had done it.

What a very nice man Mr Wild must be! I for one shall do my very best to survive and to remember!
