But, then again . . . . .

Cleopatra's.

Posted on the 6th of October.

Said Nephew and myself took a stroll up to Hildegard's for breakfast, it's been an annual ritual of mine since I first started riding the 24 hour cycle race in 2000. Hildegard is a lovely lady, comfortably built as befits a good chef but, last year had lost some weight in the interests of her health. It was with some concern that I realised the business was in new hands and made enquiries; it seems she had started suffering from poor health so had returned to Germany to be with her family. Although I have no way of contacting her, I do wish her well.

The new owners are into health foods but retain an interest in the cycling clientele that they inherited. Their breakfast menu included home made granola and yoghourt which sounded good; there didn’t seem to be a lot of it but we didn’t bother with a high carb lunch, and neither did we didn’t start refuelling during the race until we were about eighty miles into it.
Now that is value for money.
