0% very special water

Once upon a time, a soft drink empire devised a fabulously ingenious and marvelously profitable scheme...

Take plain city tap water, send it through a process of reverse osmosis, filter it profusely, add some minerals back that were removed in the filtering process, bottle it, give it a fancy name and market it to consumers for $1.29 a bottle.

I applaud this empire for its efforts to distribute clean drinking water to third world countries. I understand that when you travel to parts less traveled, you have no choice but to drink bottled water, since the local water can harm you.

But...if only the full impact of this ingenious scheme to the environment was also 0%.
